| 1. Product questions |
Do coloured lenses require fitting? |
Do coloured lenses require fitting? Some coloured lenses can be ordered with zero prescription, and this case do not need to be prescribed by an optician. To ensure that the lenses fit and that the colour result – which will vary according to your own eye colour – is as desired, we recommend, however, that you get the lenses checked by an optician. Coloured prescription lenses should be prescribed by an optician, just like traditional lenses. |
Is Acuvue a monthly disposable or two-week lens? |
Is Acuvue a monthly disposable or two-week lens? This lens can be used either as a two-week lens where the lens is taken out
and cleaned every evening, or as a one-week lens where it is used continuously for the entire week. However, the length of time for which the lenses should be worn varies from person to person, and many opticians also prescribe Acuvue as a monthly disposable lens. It is therefore important that you always follow your optician’s instructions.
|
What are the advantages of continuous wear lenses? |
What are the advantages of continuous wear lenses? Continuous wear lenses are made from silicon hydrogel, a material with very high oxygen permeability levels. Since almost as much oxygen reaches the eyes as without lenses, these lenses give improved comfort and less risk of irritation. |
What are the advantages of daily disposables? |
What are the advantages of daily disposables? Daily disposables are worn for just one day and then disposed of in the evening. Since a new lens is used each time, the risk of exposure to debris and bacteria is reduced. Handling is also easy, as you do not need to clean and disinfect the lenses. They are also ideal for those who use lenses on specific occasions, such as when participating in sports like skiing.
|
What are the various lens parameters? |
What are the various lens parameters? Base curve (BC)provides the value of the curvature of the lens.
Diameter (DIA) is the size of the lens, measured from edge to edge. The diameter varies depending on the lens brand.
Axis and Cylinder are the values which must be provided if you use lenses which correct astigmatism. |
What are toric lenses? |
What are toric lenses? Toric lenses correct astigmatisms (refractive errors). Astigmatism is a common sight defect which means that the eye has different refractive power in different directions. If you use toric lenses, you must also state the cylinder and axis values as well as the strength, diameter and base curve.
|
What colour lenses will suit me? |
What colour lenses will suit me? Coloured lenses are available for both dark and light eyes, and as both daily disposables and monthly disposables. Colour results cannot be guaranteed, as this will vary from person to person depending on your particular eye colour. In order to achieve the desired effect, we recommend that you get the lenses checked by an optician.
Dark eyes:
Mottled coloured or opaque coloured lenses are best for those with brown or very dark eyes. Choose between FreshLook Colors, FreshLook ColorBlends and Acuvue 2 Colours Opaque.
Light eyes:
You will normally achieve the best effect if you choose a colour which emphasises your natural eye colour; green or aqua coloured lenses, for example, are suitable for green eyes. Choose between Focus Softcolors, FreshLook Dimensions and Acuvue 2 Colours Enhancers.
Special-effect lenses:
This type of lens does not change your natural eye colour, but is intended to
bring a shimmer to your eyes. Our special-effect lenses are called FreshLook Radiance and are available in four different types. Moonlight is particularly suitable for naturally blue eyes, Eden for naturally green eyes, and Sunrise and Autumn for naturally brown eyes.
Party lenses:
Wild Eyes 2-Go lenses are available in four designs (Knock Out, Red Hot, White Out and Zebra). The lenses are only available in one size and with zero prescription.

Where can I find my parameters? |
Where can I find my parameters? You can find your parameters either on your old lens packaging or on your lens prescription.
|
| 2. Lens use |
Can daily disposables be used more than once? |
Can daily disposables be used more than once? A significant advantage of using daily disposables is that a new lens is used every time, reducing the risk of exposure to debris and bacteria and avoiding the need to clean the lenses using lens solutions and other care procedures. If the lenses are used more than once, the lenses must be cleaned and disinfected and there is a greater risk of bacteria deposits on the lenses. |
Can monthly disposables be worn for longer than a month? |
Can monthly disposables be worn for longer than a month? Once the lenses have been worn for a while, comfort and vision will deteriorate. The recommended wearing time is set to stop you from experiencing this deterioration. However, the risks you expose yourself to when wearing the lenses for longer than recommended vary from person to
person. |
How should I handle/care for my lenses? |
How should I handle/care for my lenses? In order to avoid debris, which can have a negative effect on comfort and
involve an increased risk of infections, regular lens care is essential. If you wear daily disposables, you avoid having to handle and care for your lenses.
Care advice:
- Clean and disinfect your lenses every time you take them out.
- At night, store your lenses in a lens case with an approved lens solution.
- Lens cases can be a source of bacteria growth, so you should change your case regularly. |
